The Youth Express Network was represented at the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) from the Council of Europe, held in Strasbourg from 25-27 January 2010. Sara ZAMBOTTI, board member of Y-E-N, came from Italy to take part on it and bring the voice of our organization to the Council of Europe! Thank you, Sara!

Le Réseau Express Jeunes a été représenté lors de la Conférence des Organisations Internationales non gouvernementales (OING) du Conseil de l’Europe. Cette session d’hiver a eu lieu à Strasbourg, du 25 au 27 janvier. Sara ZAMBOTTI, membre du Conseil d’Administration du REJ est venu de l’Italie pour y prendre part et faire entendre la voix de notre association.

Le Réseau Express Jeunes est membre de la Conférence des OING depuis 2008.

Within the context of the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme, the Youth Express Network organises a GRUNDTVIG workshop: “Odyssey or Learning to learn”. It will take place in France at the Château du Liebfrauenberg in Goersdorf, from 21st to 27th of March 2010.

The methodology in the programme tries to combine a variety of working methods – from “outdoor education”, to small group discussion, to games and simulations - in order to give a learning opportunity to the active people (volunteers or paid staff) or beneficiaries that usually, because of age, or lack of communication skills don’t have access to international or European activities.

This workshop will bring together 24 people from: Bulgaria, France, Italia, Romania, Turkey, Lithuania, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Hungary and Portugal.

Dans le cadre du Programme d’éducation et de formation tout au long de la vie crée par la Commission Européenne, le Réseau Express Jeunes organise un atelier thématique GRUNDTVIG « Odyssée ou apprendre par l’expérience ». Il se déroulera en France, au Château du Liebfrauenberg à Goersdorf, du 21 au 27 mars 2010.

Cet atelier réunira 24 participants de 11 pays différents : Bulgarie, France, Italie, Roumanie, Turquie, Lituanie, Belgique, Allemagne, Suède, Hongrie et Portugal.

Par le biais d’une méthodologie qui essayera de combiner différents méthodes –dès l’« outdoor éducation » aux petits groups de discussion, en passant par les jeux et les simulations – nous voulons faire participer des personnes actives (bénévoles ou salariés) qui à cause de l’âge ou de compétences communicationnelles n’ont pas accès aux activités internationales ou européennes.

Dans le cadre des soirées d’information de la maison des Associations de Strasbourg, le Réseau Express jeunes organise une soirée : Monter un projet européen ou transfrontalier dans les domaines de la Jeunesse, de l'éducation non formelle et de l'inclusion sociale. La séance, libre d’accès et ouvert à tous, se déroulera le 21 janvier 2010 de 18h15 à 20h15 à la Maison Des Associations, 1a place des orphelins à Strasbourg.

During three days, from 25-27th November, French and German youth and social workers from both sides of the Rhine River will meet in order for them to exchange good practices and visit some organisations. This is our study visit “Vis-à-Vis”!

The official opening will be done by a local deputy who is also going to present The Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau. German participants will be welcome in Strasbourg by the Youth Express Network and the CEMEA-Alsace, and the French delegation will have the opportunity to visit four German organisations: Schlachthof (Lahr), Jugendzentrum “Kessel” (Offenbourg), Haus der Jugend (Kehl) et Jugendkeller St. Nepomuk (Kehl).

In the last day the Upper Rhine Conference will be presented to encourage participant to take part in cross-border cooperation. This study visit is financed by the Direction régionale et départementale de la jeunesse et des sports, a French regional governmental entity in charge of youth and sport.

Pendant trois jours, du 25 au 27 novembre, des animateurs français et allemands des deux côtés du Rhin se rencontreront afin d’échanger autour de leurs pratiques et leurs structures. L’ouverture officielle de cette visite d’études sera faite par Mme Nawal Rafik-Elmrini, 2ème adjointe de la Ville de Strasbourg. Elle présentera l’Eurodistrict Strasbourg Ortenau à nos participants.

Les visiteurs allemands seront accueillis par les CEMEA-Alsace et le Réseau Express Jeunes, et les français auront l’occasion de découvrir quatre structures allemandes : Schlachthof (Lahr), Jugendzentrum “Kessel” (Offenbourg), Haus der Jugend (Kehl) et Jugendkeller St. Nepomuk (Kehl).

La conférence du Rhin Supérieur sera aussi présentée afin d’encourager la création de nouveaux projets et partenariats dans l’Eurodistrict. Le projet est soutenu par la Direction Régionale de la Jeunesse et des Sports.

Last week (11-14th November) the Youth Express Network organised an European seminar (“Particip’Action”) in Alsace, France, in partnership with the municipality of Mulhouse and the Conseil Général du Haut Rhin. This meeting gathered about 60 young people from seven cities of six European countries. All those youngsters are involved in citizenship actions and most of them were representing the Youth Council of their cities.

In the agenda three themes: Communication, Environment and Intercultural Dialogue. Participants chose a workshop and, in the end, the group formulated concrete propositions which were submitted to political deciders. As a result, a fruitful meeting and debate with elected deputies of the Conseil Général, the City, the Agglomération, and an Eurodeputy.

Dans le cadre du Festival mulhousien « Cité Jeunes », nous avons organisé, en partenariat avec la Ville de Mulhouse et le Conseil Général du Haut-Rhin, un séminaire Européen intitulé « Particip’Action » !

C’était l’occasion pour quelques soixante jeunes de 15 à 20 ans issus de sept villes et six pays européens de se rencontrer et d’échanger leurs avis entre eux, mais aussi avec des élus locaux et un eurodéputé. A l’ordre du jour, trois thématiques : Communication, Environnement et le Dialogue Interculturel. Ce séminaire a eu pour résultat un débat intergénérationnel passionnant entre les hommes et femmes politiques et quelques représentants de la jeunesse européenne déjà engagés politiquement dans leurs villes.

The Youth Express Network was represented in the Forum on Human Rights Education with young people organized by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, on October 16 and 17th. It was a parallel event to an international Forum on Human Rights Education held in the European Youth Centre of Budapest. The idea was to gather local associations and local actors involved in Human Rights and youth work: a very nice opportunity to meet other local organizations, exchange good practices and discover new methods on Human Rights Education for young people!

We also participated in a Training Course on Couching of youth projects organized by the French National Agency for the Youth in Action Program and the French organization CALIOPPE, in Grenoble, France, from 19-22th October 2009. The main purpose of this TC was to enable youth workers to get information and training on “Youth Initiatives”, action 1.2 of the Youth in Action Program.

But it was not all…

About 25 students from the University of Strasbourg, France, came to our place to discover our European and local activities as well as the Youth in Action Program of the European Commission. These students, who are preparing a diploma on “Mediation and Citizenship”, got motivated after watching a movie about “How to do a Youth Exchange”… On October 23th the Youth Express Network met 40 young people from the Flemish youth Council (Belgium), who have contacted us in order to discover the youth work in France. We presented them some particularities of the French system and finish by showing some initiatives developed in a local level by some organizations from Strasbourg. We were very glad to meet them!

Le Réseau Express Jeunes a été représenté au Forum sur l’éducation aux Droits de l’Homme, organisé par la Direction de la Jeunesse et du Sport du Conseil de l’Europe à Strasbourg, les 16 et 17 octobre derniers. Cet événement avait pour objectif de rassembler les représentants des associations et organisations locales qui travaillent sur l’accès aux Droits de l’Homme. Il a été l’occasion de rencontrer d’autres acteurs locaux, d’échanger avec eux des bonnes pratiques et de découvrir de nouvelles méthodes sur l’éducation aux Droits de l’Homme pour les jeunes !

Nous avons également participé à la formation à l’accompagnement de projet de jeunes, organisée par l’Agence Française du Programme Jeunesse en Action et l’association CALIOPPE, à Grenoble, du 19 au 22 Octobre 2009. L’objectif de la formation était de permettre aux travailleurs de jeunesse de s’informer et de se former sur les « Initiatives des jeunes », action 1.2 du programme Jeunesse en Action de la Commission Européenne.

Mais la deuxième quinzaine d’octobre ne s’arrête pas là…

Les étudiants du DEUST Médiation et Citoyenneté de l’Université de Strasbourg sont venus dans nos locaux pour une présentation de nos activités ainsi que du Programme Jeunesse en Action de la Commission Européenne.

Le 23 Octobre le Réseau Express Jeunes a eu le plaisir de rencontrer 40 jeunes Belges du Conseil de Jeunes de la région de Flandres, qui nous ont contactés pour avoir plus de renseignement sur le travail jeunesse en France. Après la présentation du contexte local et un débat intéressant basé sur le travail de certaines structures situées à Strasbourg, nous avons eu un bon moment de convivialité… Un grand merci a Olivier PRZYBYLSKI-RICHARD, directeur des CEMEA-Alsace, pour sa contribution !

The Youth Express Network, as a member of the INGO conference of the Council of Europe, participated to its autumn session which took place in Strasbourg from 29th September to 1st October 2009. The voice of the civil society is heard at the Council of Europe thanks to the Conference of International Non-governmental Organisations (INGOs) and the Youth Express Network is proud of join it!

Brigitte Ludmann, director of Youth Express Network, facilitated a session of “Networking” during a Partnership Building Activity « Jive – Youth Work International – Experiencing diversity » organised by the German National Agency of the Youth in Action Programme which took place in Berlin from 2 to 5 October.

The Youth Express Network was also represented in “the Info and Networking day” organized by the European Youth Forum in Brussels on October 8 and 9th.
